Premature Ejaculation

What is Premature Ejaculation?

Premature Ejaculation is a men’s health issue that is generally defined as an experience where a man ejaculates sooner during sexual intercourse than he or his partner would like.  Some studies have estimated that as many as 1 out of 3 men have experienced this problem at some time.

The medical criteria for PE states that a man almost always ejaculates within one minute of penetration.  Others climax within seconds of entry. Distress and frustration is caused when ejaculation occurs sooner than desired by either partner.  The desired point of ejaculation varies between people.

Why Preboost for PE?

There have been great strides in the development of PE treatments.  Dr. Fisch, a board-certified Urologist and Clinical Professor of Urology, developed PREBOOSTⓇ, a topical PE treatment that is a better option than what is available on the market today.  PREBOOSTⓇ helps to slow down a man’s sexual response through the use of a pre-moistened wipe containing Benzocaine, which produces desensitization of the skin of the penis.

The best part of PREBOOSTⓇ is its ability to help you last longer while not affecting your pleasure.  Unlike other PE treatments, PREBOOSTⓇ is applied with a pre-moistened wipe, allowing for total control over the amount and the placement of the desensitizing agent. You can apply as much or as little of the product that you need and only on the areas you deem necessary. Some men find desentizing the head of the penis works well, while others may find desensitizing only the shaft is best.

What causes premature ejaculation?

Although it’s not always possible to figure out why a man experiences premature ejaculation, the latest medical studies point to two things: higher-than-normal penis sensitivity and reduced levels of serotonin (a naturally produced chemical that helps with nerve connectivity in the brain). Other things that can cause premature ejaculation or make it worse include stress, anxiety and medical side-effects. No matter what the cause, it’s usually treatable, often with an over-the-counter solution.

Is premature ejaculation a mental disorder?

For a long time, experts thought premature ejaculation was a mental problem – that it was “all your head,” but that’s not what experts believe now. Today, experts know more about penis sensitivity and serotonin levels, and how these factors and others can cause premature ejaculation.

How common is premature ejaculation?

Premature ejaculation is extremely common. In fact, as many as one out of three men have experienced premature ejaculation at some time. It’s easily the most common male sexual problem, and it affects men of all ages and races.

Is premature ejaculation the same as erectile dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction is when a man has trouble achieving an erection. With premature ejaculation, the man can get an erection but he ejaculates sooner than intended.

Does premature ejaculation start at puberty or can it happen later?

Both are possible. If a man has always experienced premature ejaculation during sex, it’s called “lifelong premature ejaculation.” If the condition begins later in life, it’s called “acquired premature ejaculation.” Both can be helped with PREBOOST wipes.

When should I see my doctor?

It’s a good idea to see your doctor if there has been a persistent change in your sexual function, whether that change is related to premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, pain with ejaculation, or a severe delay or inability to experience orgasm. There may be medical conditions that can be effectively treated.
